I started My Singing Group in Barcelona in 2015, and went on to run two groups for six years. Members came from all four corners of the globe. We performed at different events around the city, and three times a year, I organised Student Showcases in the heart of the famous ‘Gótico’ neighbourhood. I learnt so much living abroad, it taught me a lot about various cultures and different ways of life, and I learnt to speak Spanish.
In 2017 I joined a band, 'The 54321s', as songwriter, lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist. Performing our own sixties-inspired songs, we played festivals and concert venues across Catalunya and had our music played on radio stations.
Another high point during my time in Barcelona was being appointed Head of music of Secondary School at the prestigious private school Aula in 2018.
Before moving to Spain in 2014, I spent ten years working as a private vocal coach, both online and in my home studio, as well as teaching singing in schools. I was musical director for various Performing Arts, I wrote and taught my own song writing workshops, and I ran a school choir for kids.
Alongside teaching, I spent a lot of time pursuing a career in music. I wrote and co-produced my own albums and toured my own music, solo acoustically and in a band. My music has aired on a variety of BBC radio shows including Tom Robinson's BBC 6 Introducing Show. I have supported Ed Sheeran, Scott Matthews, Madness, Imelda May, Newton Faulkner, and many others, in some of the UK's most iconic venues, from Ronnie Scott's to Glastonbury Festival.
